Q: Lupus Tia ?

I was diagnosed with lupus at age 36, and i'm now 52. In 1996 I had severe central nervous system vasculitis that was treated for 6 months with high dose iv steroids with cyclophosphamide. Now I have epilepsy from it which after all these years is finally under control. I also have a lot of brain atrophy not only from the lupus but also from a near fatal car accident as a teenager.

The weirdest sensation happened to me last night walking my dog: suddenly, out of no where, I got this terrible feeling like I was having a hard time walking and then I became dizzy and off-balance as if the ground were moving. What the heck was that? It lasted for about 5 minutes. I came close to yelling across the street for help from my neighbor. Felt kinda funny afterwards. First thing this morning I called my neuro and asked whether or not I could have had a stroke and he said probably not because a stroke would last much longer. However, today around noon I developed numbness in my fingers and toes to the point of being sorta painful. Has anyone else had this experience?

Yep.
I have those all the time. They don't even faze me too much anymore. I just get kind of annoyed like, "how am I supposed to have a life and work when this is happening?" of course, there's no one to give me any good answer. So life goes on. I have neurological involvement, but no diagnosis yet except for possible vasculitis.

I get numbness and tingling in my toes, in my left hand, in my left leg. Sometimes I get dizzy like that where my balance goes for a minute. Then i'm fine again. One thing you'll find, when it comes to stuff happening in your brain, the diagnosis is pretty difficult. It's not like they can cut into it and make sure.

Hi all! Just wanted to add my $.02 worth...

I, too, get dizzy spells, black spots in my vision, i've lost feeling in my left pinky finger (looks to be permanent), tingling in all my other extremities, loss of balance, etc.

I have been having tests for this for over a year...And they are still searching. They just say it is due to the lupus, etc.

*sigh*

hugs to you all,
