Im Not Sure Where to Post Because I Dont Know What It Is!

Okay this is going to be kinda long!
My periods are really heavy and I have lots of big clots. And I have cramps so bad that I cant get out of bed. If I take 4 ibprofin every 8 hours this helps the bleeding so I dont have to change tampons every hour, but I still have clots and slight cramping. But two weeks ago I started getting really sharp pains and cramping in lower abdomen and right below my ribs. Its not as bad today, but then this afternoon I got this really sharp pain in my belly button. I have a constipation problem which is usually what the pain is but ive been eating more fiber and eating healthy and pooing everyday so I really dont think its that. And about two months ago I went in for my yearly and my pap came back abnormal and they just told me that I need to come in again in august and have another one, could it be from that or is it something else. Should I go to the doctor or see if it goes away or what? Please ladies I need some advice.

Cowgirl03,
you should still go see a doctor even if the symptoms go away. Because your pap came back abnormal you need to go back in, in a few month to see if another test will determine the same diagnosis. As far as the cramping, your pap smear coming out abnormal probably has nothing to do with that. I am not sure how old you are, if you are sexually active, and or would consider getting on birth control. If your cramping does have to do with your period, getting on birth control would help in a few ways. Being on bc will help your periods become more regular and most likely lessen. Also most forms of bc will help lessen your cramps. I know a few people that are on bc only for the reason of the having the regularity of their period and the lighter periods w/ less painful cramping. Depo-provera is the only form (to my knowledge) which will not help out with your period symptoms. Any other combined birth control pill should help you. I have been steady on birth control for many years and it has helped a lot with painful sypmtoms associated with my period.
It is good that you are incorporating more fiber in your diet, not only to help everything move more, but simply because it is more healthy.
I hope this all helped some. Good luck !

It sounds a little like it could be endometriosis, where there is tissue in the wrong places. You also don't say how long your period goes for -- when I was younger mine was quite light and went on for five days and I had no stomach cramping, but for the past couple of years it has been getting heavier but shorter. Now it's very heavy, lots of clots but it's over in 2 1/2 days, and I get awful cramps the whole time. There is a product I use called feminax (a sort of purple-pink packet, maybe it is sold wherever you are) which has a specific anti-cramping ingredient, and it's wonderful -- when it kicks in after about 20 minutes I can function again.

Honey you need to go back to the doctor. If your pap was abnormal they should not have told you to wait a couple of months and then come back, that is just silly.
Birth control is worth a shot, but you really need to go to the doctor to make sure there isn't something seriously wrong first. If it is ruled that it is just the way your system works, or even endo, then birth control would be worth a shot.
B/c pills can help with cramping and heaviness, but they do not work for everyone, so keep that in mind. I would definately give it a shot, because it does work for a lot of people, but it is not guaranteed.
If your pap is abnormal because of an infection that could very well be causing your cramping. Did they do std tests also when you got your annual? They usually do, but just making sure.
Good luck and let us know what happens.
