Q: Pregnancy After Chemotherapy For Colon Cancer

I had chemo following a partial colonectomy this past fall. I did three months of treatment with 5-fu and leucovorin, from december to february. My oncologist said that this particular concoction of drugs is unlikely to cause infertility (he knows my husband and I want kids).

I didn't ask him, however, how long after finishing chemo I ought to wait to start trying to get pregnant. I can't find any info on this online. There's lots of info on chemo during pregnancy, but not on how long afterwards the drugs could affect unborn children.

Any information, web sites, etc. That anyone could point me to, would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Nicole
