Doctor Said I Have Rheumatoid Arthritis Posted: 06-05-04 02:33am
Yesterday I got the results of my blood
test back and my doctor diagnosed me with
rheumatoid arthritis. She said that she
will do some more tests to make sure. I
was wondering if anyone has it and if they
could tell me what their symptoms were and
if it really changed their life. I am
nineteen and I just finished my freshman
year of college so I am sort of worried at
how this may change my life....Thanks:)

Rheumatoid arthritis (ra) is an autoimmune
disorder. It usually affects the small
joints, classically starting in the hands
and affects females greater than males
under the age of 40. Your prognosis
depends on your treatment of your disease.
You may have mininimal involvement of
your joints or you may be one of those
that can be affected greatly. It can
affect all joints in your body. My
advice to you is to get an allergy test.
Knowing what you are allergic to and
staying away from it will keep the immune
reactions in your body low thus keeping
your joint flare ups low. There are
plenty of supplements that you can take in
addition to or in accordance with your ra
medication. Listed below are the
supplements you can take with the dosages.
You doctor may prescribe you drugs that
inhibit your immune system. Make sure
you ask what your risk factors are on
medications that they prescribe. If you
have any more questions regarding your
disease, I would be more than happy to
help you. These are only a few of the
things that you can do to keep yourself
active and pain free. Good luck
selenium 50-70 mcg/day
bromelain 2000-2500 mg twice a day take
this hour and a half away from eating
quercetin 250-500 mg three times a day
also away from food
