Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a problem that I have. I recently skipped a pill on friday and that night had sex with my boyfriend not using any other kind method of birth control and then I also skipped my pill on saturday and also again at sex that night. I took my two pills at 2 am on saturday. In my package of pills this was the week after my sugar pills. So I guess my question is should I worry about getting pregnant? Thank you for listening and your advice Question

Kimmorga,
continue taking your pills as prescribed. It is safe to say that you are probably okay and not pregnant. You eventually took those pills and didn't skip them altogether. Again there is no knowing for sure until you finish this cycle and possibly miss your period. Because those pills were the start of your pack (beginning of your cycle), your chances of becoming pregnant are less likely than if it had happened a week or two after that. You ovulate approx. 2 weeks after your cycle begins (the first day of your period is the first day of your cycle). This does not mean that you are off the hook. It is never certain exactly when you ovulate unless you have some type of monitor. It is good that you took the two pills. If you ever happen to miss a pill even two days in a row, take them together as to not miss them altogether. If you are having trouble remembering to take your pills and are not willing to use any other method of backup birth control (ie diaphragm, condom, etc.), you may want to consider another brand of birth control such as the ortho patch or the nuva ring. The patch you switch weekly and the ring you only insert and take out once a month. I was on the nuva ring and loved it simply because I didn't have to mess with a pill day to day. Sorry for the lengthly reply, hope it helped.
Good luck,
natalie Smile

Extremely eHealthy
Every woman ovulates at different times of her cycle. You should not have sex on days that you skipped a pill and if you miss even just one pill you need to use a back-up method of birth control for at least seven days.
Also, sperm can live inside your body for five to seven days. So even if you are not ovulating on the day that you have intercourse does not mean that you won't be before that sperm dies.

Be very careful. Even taken correctly birth control is only 99% effective. If you miss pills you need to use a backup method.
