Kidney Transplant

I am looking for information and actual photos of the transplant procedure for both donor and receipient. What are possible complications other than the usual with anesthia, blood clots, failure etc. Want information on what to expect during and after. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My mother donated her kidney to me in dec 01. She went through a considerable amount of pain but she is a very tough lady. As for me I was home in 4 days and the onyl complaint I have is prednisone and it's side effects. The process was far from easy for her but there was turning her bravery away and certainly no way to blunt my desperation. I am eternally thankful to her as it is...This just makes the list of thank yous even longer :-)

Hi Lizzylou,

I successfully had a kidney transplant in March of 2006. Please feel free to send me a private message if you have any question or concerns, I'll be glad to talk to you.

Hang in there!
