I have gassy stomach since young. But my gastric problems are getting more and more serious for the past few months. I have been waking up at about 2 am in the morning having gastric problems and I can’t sleep if I do not eat a full meal (equivalent to lunch or dinner). I have seen a polyclinic doctor and he has given me magtasil (a type of antacid) but it sometimes work and sometimes doesn’t. I always have bloated stomach after food.

When I tried to do some running, my gastric problems occurs more often and I have to eat even more. I also feel pain in my stomach area when running. I have gain more than 10kg over these 1-2 months.

Can someone please advice me on what I should do. Does strenuous exercise worsen gastric conditions.

Gastritis
Hi, I had been having major problems with my stomach for the last 6 weeks, (pain in upper stomach, burning sensation which also went into my back, I do a lot of belching) I finally went to the county hospital in chicago, which I found out had the best doctors, plus they give you a complete body scan before sending you home. They told me I had gastritis, recommended maalox or mylanta and they prescribed ranitidine. They said the lining in my stomach was gone (which is from the pop I drink) and I have to be put on a diet (no pop, spicy food, chocolate, fried food) in order to restore lining in stomach. It will hurt a while until it is back to normal.

I hope this help you a little.

Did you also experience constipation? Reason I ask is because I have the same symptoms but with severe constipation, lots of burping, gas. I cant not have a bowel movement unless with a laxative. What is a body scan? I just went to er on tuesday and they did gallbladder series, ultrasound, and gave me an enema...And here it is thursday and I still havent had a bowel movement.
