My partners in the gulf at the moment
serving on an austrailian ship, it is not
just england and america in this, their
are other countries that have sent their
young men and women to fight in this war,
on land,at sea and in the sky, and each
and every serving member has a family that
they will one day return to one way or
another, deeply affected by the things
that they have seen and experianced.
My partners ship was the ship that rescued
the 3 american personel when their patrol
boat was blown up by the cowerdly suicide
bombers just over a month ago, of the 3
only one survived, but the young men and
women onboard hmas stuart were affected in
the deapest way, because thay realised
that it could have just as easily been one
of their patrol boats out there when they
attacked. And for many that was their
first look at the realities of what they
were doing.
Paul left his home, his creature comforts,
many of his friends and most importantly
his family, his children, for over 6
months to fight in a war along side many
brave and honerable people from many
countries, they left believing that what
they were doing was for the greater good
and that they would make a difference,
unfortunatly the reasons for all this
blood shed have become blurred, their is a
growing belief that the american
government has ulteria motives in this war
( and it probably does) and the actions of
a few are beginning to sully the
reputation of the many that are over
there.
So I ask that when you pray, you pray for
understanding from the masses, that they
understand that the men and women who are
over there are just doing their job,
trying to fight for a cause that at times
may seem futile and wrong, but in essence
right, that they are sacrificing
themselves, their relationships with their
wifes, husbands and children, so that the
world may become a safer place, and they
are not over there because thay want to be
but because thay have to be.
I ask you to pray for the mothers and
fathers, sisters and brothers, husbands
and wifes of these men and women, for
these are the people who keep the home
fires burning, who cry for there loved
ones when the worst happens, and who scan
the news papers and tv news reports for
them, their ships, their battalions and
air craft, because these things keep hope
in their hearts, who turn on their
computers each day and hope for email, who
worry all day when there is none. These
people sacrifice too.
Pray for the children, for they are the
forgotten ones, they pine for their
parents if they are old enough, and they
do not really understand, they worry that
it was them that made daddy/mummy go away
for so long, that they have done something
bad and thats why they dont call. For the
younger ones because it is easy for them
to forget, and when the long gone serving
member returns, they have a stranger
living with them, and that can be scary.
Most of all pray for understanding, pray
that when these men and women return they
will be welcomed as heros, honered and
revered................. Not shamed and
humiliated like the vietnam vets.....
Pray that people remember the reason why
they left, and they remember that they
left to fight for all of us.

Thank you, yes we are very much involved,
thankfully there have been no australian
deaths, but as australia comes under the
rule of mother england, where she fights,
youll find diggers in there with the best
of them. Australia is a peace loving
nation, but the threat of terrorisim is
global, and there for the responsibility
of all. We can not let another 9/11 or
bali happen again. So bush asked
austraila to come to the party and we got
dressed up and joined in, its the anzac
spirit that lives in us all I guess.

My goodness, I never realized how many
people were actually involved in this war.
Its pretty much another world war...
Everybody involved is in my prayers,
expecially the ones deeply affected by
this.
