Would Anyone Like to Be My Atkins Buddy
Posted: 06-01-04 06:03am

How can I go past the first two weeks.
Can anyone help?
I am always hungry.
I wish I could forghet about food.
On my last day of atkins I was so hungry and dizzy I just had to eat untill I felt satisfied because I feared to be seen like that. I was waiting for a friend to show up for a tea in the afternoon. Once I started to eat I couldn't stop.
I wake up thinking about food.
Lately, I don't want to miss out on any type of food. If I spot something i've nver had before I just have to try it.

I replied to your post on the other thread, but it went above yours instead of below.
Anyway, zilbucks and I are atkins buddies, but I quit and she kept with it. I am planning on starting again, so if you are still interested then pm her or I and we will find a way to get into contact.

Hi, I started atkins on the 29th (2 days ago). I lost about 4-6 pounds, I dont know for sure because my scale isnt that accurate, but I lose and gain 5 lbs on an regular day so I don't know if it's from atkins. I'm thinking of doing induction for a month....I need to lose about 20 lbs. Is that healthy? Also is peanut butter allowed during induction? Some people say yes and others say no. Good luck to everyone on atkins!!

Dear ladymarmelade99

please consider purchasing a digital bath scale. Try philips. They're accurate. You sould weigh yoursef the first thing in the morning. No person can loose more than one pound a day. The first week it's just the water you're eliminating.
Try reading the book. It answers most of the questions you might have.

No, if you read the atkins book, or website, all you are allowed to eat is listed there under the induction instructions. I can guarantee peanut butter isn't there! You cannot even eat peanuts until phase 2.
You could do induction for a month if you really wanted to, but if you only need to lose 20 pounds I wouldn't suggest it. People who need to lose a lot of weight usually do induction longer, but at this rate you would lose most if not all of 20 pounds in that first months and no, that isn't healthy.
Just everyone make sure you stick to it. It is all a complete (and I mean complete) waste of time if you don't stick to it. Doing atkins off and on will not do any good at all. You either have to do it or not do it. Also, after you lose all of the weight that you want to lose, you still have to stick to it! You cannot go back to eating loads of carbs and expect to stay thin. It won't work.
If any of you cannot stick to it try this. I have tried atkins and I just can't do it. I love bread, pasts, veggies and fruit way too much! Anyway, cut your calories back to 1200. No less than 1200/day. (of course everyone should check with their doctor before beginning any diet! Can't sue me, I warned you!) eat whenever you are hungry, don't starve yourself. Also, try to eat several small things throughout the day. This way you can eat the things that you love, you just have to eat less of them. I did pilates and walked on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes everday, and cut my calories back to 1200/day and I lost 8 pounds in a week. I didn't stick to it, because of a very long story, but it can be done people! Of course, the first weight you lose on any diet is water weight, but weight regardless.

This is just another idea in case someone reading this cannot stick to atkins like me. But good luck to all of you in whatever diet you choose!

No More Than 1200 Cal a Day
Posted: 12-06-04 07:10am

I agree with you.
At frist I searched for guidance in the dr atkins book but soon enough I realized how difficult it is to discipline myself to stick to it. I live in eastern europe and here I cannot find any of the little protein snaks.
Results can be attained at a very fast rate. I could see myself loose half a kilo a day. Like you said you have to stick to it. The pounds pile back on faster than you take them off when you eat like before.
If you have discovered a better way to diet than the this combination of fat, protein, and less than 20gm of carbs, please share your secret.
For example how should we start our day.
What should we eat for breakfast , lunch and dinner?

Hello Atkins Buddys

Hello..

I was doing great before thanksgiven on my diet.. But even though I ate lost of turkeys and deviled eggs.. I screwed it up by eating cheesecake..
Oh, it was delicious...Then I got back on it and did ok till christmas..Where I totally distroyed it.. And to this day been off..

I know what I am too eat.. But as you all know if you not ready to start you wont..
I too plan to get back on.. Before christmas I was at 240 pounds ..But back when I started in sept 04, I was 265..I didnt even cheat for halloween..I was a good girl...But I really need to get back on my diet..

I do not call my diet the atkins diet.. I kinda invented my own that works just as well as the atkins diet..
Which I will share with you.. To help you all out as well..

Eat white meats only..Bake or broil them.. Such as tuna, fish, shrimp, pork, chicken, turkey, etc..
No red meats at all...
Eat green veggies...
Caffine free drinks
eggs and cheese ..Any kind..
Cream cheese, cheese dip, salsa, onion dip great with pork rines..

Do not eat anything out of a box, no processed foods..If you cant grow it in a garden dont eat it..
Stay away from sweets such as cakes, brownies, icecream , candy, snacks, chips, etc..No cereals..No poptarts..

If you get hungry snack on nuts or meat..To fill you up and drink lots of liquids..

I have a allergic problem so I cant eat pork.. Extreamly allergic to it.. See I have lupus and something about eating pork.. Makes me have allergic reaction..Landed me in the hospital no long ago..

But if you arent allergic to anything.. I wish you all goodluck..And I plan to get back on my diet.. Lot of things have happen around here lately that I really havent thought of my diet until now..
Talk to u later

Hi glad to see that their are still folks out there who belive in this diet.
I lost shed loads of weight using it two years ago! but after moving back with my mom and pops the weight has crept on due to the fact their house if filled with nasty carbs.
I'm glad to see that folk are still using it to loose those un wanted pounds - and I'm really inspired to start over again.

Me thinks I'll focus and aim to get started on Monday June 24th, would any of you like to be my diet buddy/ies?

Look forward to hearing from you
