Lupus And Hysterectomy Posted: 06-01-04 03:26am
My mom have been diagnose with lupus for
the past 18years!! Just a few days ago
she informed me that her doctor suggests
that she should have a hysterectomy!
What complications will there be given
that a: she also has been told she is
diabetic b) will there be lots of
complications that we can be aware of c)
could this be unavoidable? She do suffer
from chronic back pain which maybe caused
from the fibroids> my mom lives in the
caribbean and I am very worried about her

Hi,i know you must be worried about your
mom.I had a hysterectomy in '98.Shortly
after I was told about my lupus. It was no
walk in the park, but if she has a good
doctor, she should be ok. They watched me
very closely.Put those things on my legs
for good blood circulation. Made sure I
didn't run a fever, got up out of bed soon
after to keep my muscles in good
shape.Things like that.Every person is a
little different as to their needs. Hope
this eases your mind some.

I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy in
august. I have fibroids and I have
been
suffering with a quite a few menopausal
symptoms. I also have lupus. I am
particularly interested in hearing from
anyone who has gone through this procedure
and their recovery process. What can on
usually expect? What should I pay close
attention to? When could you resume
normal activity,i.E. Exercise?
