Has anyone experienced petit mal or
partial seizures in association with their
lupus? I am still experiencing
mysterious symptoms that they now beleive
might be seizures. These symptoms first
appeared when I had a major flare back in
oct-nov, and it has taken this long for
them to weed through everything else to
come up with this.
I started my car one day after work and
woke up some time later with the car still
running. Afterward, I had a hard time
keeping my car in the lines driving home.
This is just one day. Has anyone
else experienced this?
I had a complete series of mri's in
january which were inconclusive.

Unfortunately, mia, I am in the same boat
you are. I have had several "issues" that
are suspicious, but have not been declared
anything. I've been dealing with this for
over a year.
I've been told several possibilities, but,
I think, am no closer to any real
answers...Although my next neurology
appointment is in 2 weeks.
Wishing you the best...Hugs,

Sezures Posted: 06-02-04 21:11pm
Lady brannon and mia, if you are having
sezures you need to have a test called
aneeg. It reads brain waves.I've had my
share!! In '97 when I was first told I
had lupus they had to determine if my
sezures were from my lupas or if I had
epsy. Mine was the latter. Neither is a
good thing. It runs in my family.
Please make sure you get the proper
test,and the right meds if needed.It's a
dangerous thing to let go.

Ladybrannon and sharon thanks for your
replies. Hopefully, they will figure out
sooner that latter hat is going on.

Petit Mal Seizures ? Posted: 06-08-04 19:01pm
Hi mia,
i was diagnosed with lupus in 1989. In
1996 I started having your same problems.
My lupus doctor ordered a spinal tap,
mri, and an anti-neuronal antibody test
which measures the amount of antibodies to
nerve cells. They were very conclusive
in that I had vasculitis in my brain,
which was causing me to have seizures.
I hope this info might help you.
