Hi everyone,
(didn't quite know where to post this).
I have been scheduled to have a lap. With syringing of multi-cysyts on my left ovary. (still don't have a fix date yet).
I have been feeling unwell since a bit before xmas {really bad bloating, stomach swelled, constipation, fatigue just toname a few) no doctors took me seriously for ages, but finally I got set for an ultrasound. They found that my right ovary was swollen and they appeared to be a mass there. I was sent for a further ultrasound (vaginal) , but they couldn't see my right oveary due to my bowel, and found my left ovary to be full of multiple cysts ( but the Dr. Doing the ultrasound this time said it was nothing to worry about)
i wen for my follow up last week, and was told that they were booking me in for the lap. With syirng, as they also wanted to see what was going on with my right ovary. I am slightly worried over the whole thing, but at least they are starting to take me seriously. The worst thing is that since everything began I have put on almost 40lbs, eventhough I have completely overhauled my eating (due to feeling so unwell)....

That was a bit long winded but has anyone had a lap. Before and what exactly was it like? I've been told that the waiting list is 2-3 months. I just hope they are able to tell me what is wrong with me, and that it isn't anythign serious...

P.S can cysts cause your period to be late or stop altogether?..As i'm consdiering going to see my gp some time next week, as I am usually like clockwork (between 28-30 days) but in april it was 40 days between cycles and I still haven't had it yet for this month (day 49)...It's definitely not stress, as apart from feeling ill, this is the less stress I have been in ages (believe it or not Laughing )

thanks for listening Sad
sasha xx

Actually I had a lap in april 2 years ago for the same thing. I had cysts on my left ovarie also. Ummm its not that bad but i'll be honest the recovery was awful because they have to inflate your stomach with air and after surgery, the air has to deflate naturally so it feels like u are having a heart attack. That sucked real bad. I was a lil sore in my pelvic area as well but the recovery is short. They'll tell u all about it. Good luck and keep posting. ~ erica.

Poor you, I know how scared you must be feeling, ive never had a lap but I did have a cyst luckily it vanished on its own, however my niece had to have hers removed via a lap and although it took her 4 to 6 weeks to fully recover and stop feeling tired she said it wasnt half as bad as she thought it would be, she was up and about within a few hours and home from the hospital the next day, you do feel some pain from the gas they inflate you with but a nurse told me to drink a small glass of peppermint once youre allowed to drink after the op and the peppermint helps the wind to ease a lot quicker and less painfully. Goodluck
