Q: Funny! Sinko De Mayo

Got this in my e-mail. Very funny way to look at the holiday celebrated in mexican and spanish places.......

Most people don't know that back in 1912, hellmann's mayonnaise was
manufactured in england. In fact, the titanic was carrying 12,000 jars
of the condiment scheduled for delivery in vera cruz, mexico, which was
to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in new york. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise
ever delivered to mexico....
But as we know....The great ship did not make it to new york.... The
ship hit an iceberg and sank.... And the cargo was forever lost.... The
people of mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly
awaiting its delivery....Were disconsolate at the loss....
Their anguish was so great, that they declared a national day of
mourning which they still observe to this day....
The national day of mourning occurs each year on may 5th....
And is known....Of course....As sinko de mayo

Hey
It's a joke. The actual cinco de mayo is to celebrate the dead (i think) or something. A good holiday. This is just a funny lil thing.

"quote"
the holiday of cinco de mayo, the 5th of may, commemorates the victory of the mexicans over the french army at the battle of puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the mexican state capital city of puebla and throughout the state of puebla, but is also celebrated in other parts of the country and in u.S.Cities with a significant mexican population. It is not, as many people think, mexico's independence day, which is actually september 16.

Her Point...
Her point is she was letting us know what it really is since someone stated what they thought it was and turned out to be almost correct, but she was clearafying what it was. Nothing is wrong with that.

Cinco de mayo means "may 5th" in spanish. Just like we call july 4th "july 4th."

uno, dos, tres, quatro, cinco...

the Joke
Her joke was still just as cute and funny, but at least someone ising going to read that and wonder if it was real or not. Hot is an intellagent person, and just likes telling facts, and since someone said "i think" mayne not in those words, but since it was basically said, she desided to help out by stating what it was. She was not trying to ruin the joke. Rather then the comment you gave her, you could have acted more grown up about it and said thanks for the info. Persinally I enjoy finding things out and learning. Did you not learn something from her post? Your comment just didn't fit with her post. Now if she said something thtat just wasn't on topic, "whats your point" would make more since. Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to bash on ya, just thought it seemed a bit unfare to that person the way you replyed. I'm sure she is proud of her knowledge, and your comment was bashing it down, or so I saw it that way.

Pathetic?
How am I pathetic? I found you to be completely rude and still are. I don't know who you are, but you can kiss my health question. I found nothing wrong in her post, and I am sorry you are not open to learning things, just because you don't need to learn it. I don't need to know many of the things that I do, but at least I can say i'm not ignorant on the subject, as say.. You might be??? So you can try bashing me because of your ignorance all you want, but you are the pathetic sounding one here, and you will see that when you grow up some! Maybe you should get some knoledge so that next time a subject comes up, your not so ignorant and pathetic sounding about it! "omg-wow! Is that true chanda? Lol.

Oic!
I totally understand now why you got so rude with hot! I started reading some of your posts in abortion. Yeah, I remember you now. No wonder! Ok, well I will just leave it at that, and not bother to say anything further to you again, cause now I understand. ...I'm sorry.

Sparkly if you do not care what cinco de mayo really is that is just fine.
Like I said I only posted what it was because I also did not know and looked it up. But, there is no sense in giving people attitude or arguing about it for goodness sakes. If you don't care then just don't read the post.
