Yeah, I never got a brown mark, but my
skin underneath the patch smelled so
incredibly bad. Just like wearing a
bandaid for a week and then taking it off.
Gross.
I personally hated the patch. And the
hormones in it were not right for me
anyway. I tried six pills this last time
before I found one which worked and gave
me no side effects. It can be a grueling
process, but well worth it when you find a
pill right for you!
I heard a couple of years ago that they
developed a male "pill" but they still
had to do studies.
Most men would still expect us to be the
ones to worry about it though.

I've been on the patch for 4 months, the
first was crappy cuz of the spotting and
all that. Since then its been great,
only side affect, it increased my weight
gain, which im sure I still would have had
cuz im working instead of having time to
walk and stuff.
Since then i've loved it.........Of course
since then I havent had sex...Ugh! Lol

I just started the patch and i'm not sure
of the best location to put it. I know
it depends on the user but I was wondering
for some ideas.

I just started the patch and I don't like
it very much so far. I just started my
2nd month, so i'm on my 4th patch (well,
5th because my last one fell completely
off). So far, every patch has come lose
at the edges or fallen right off. I only
apply them to clean, dry skin and so far
only to my bottom. I just put the 5th one
on my upper arm but now I can't wear short
sleeve shirts. It is really annoying me.
Has anyone else had this problem?

According to the info that came with the
path you are only supposed to apply it to
your bottom, stomach, or upper arm.
Otherwise I would put it on my lower back
too

They say upper torso but they really mean
upper torso on your back (i.E. Shoulder
blade area). They say not to put it on
or around your breasts. As for your
lower back.. I guess it depends on what
each individual calls lower back versus
your bottom. My rule of thumb would be
to put it below where your underwear sits
and you're probably ok. I have never had
mine come lose, but I have had it wrinkle
up..

Adverse Reaction to the Patch

My daughter tried the patch this past
summer. She used it for 3 months. In
oct. She had a cerebral venus thrombosis
(blood clot in the brain) and two small
strokes. Her Dr. Says that it was most
likely caused by the ortho evra birth
control patch. She is 19 years old.
She did not smoke. Her life is now a
hell of pain and pills. She has had to
take a leave of absence from school. If
you have a sudden sever headache or a pain
in your leg, get to a Dr. Or er
immediately. :(
