Q: Losing Weight

Since I found out I was pregnant 4 weeks ago, I have lost four pounds. The hubby is upset by this. Should I be worried? He thinks I should start drinking protein shakes, but there's no way I would be able to keep that down! Info and advice please!

I cant remember but do you have alot of morning sickness? Im 4 months tomorrow and I went to the doc last week because I was real sick and I lost 4 pounds too, believe me my mom and hubby were not happy either. They keep nagging that im dieting and I swear im not! I get full very easy though. And last night I ate beef stew and I ate only a little bit with 1 tortilla and I was so stuffed, I puked a little bit. Its actually normal to lose some weight if you have alot of morning sickness but dont worry its just for right now, after that youll be gaining so tell hubby not to worry its normal.

I can't even eat real food. I just eat bread and plain pasta with no sauce and milk and cereal! My hubby keeps nagging me to eat more, but I can only eat about half as much as before I got pregnant.

Should I take supplements or anything like that? Or just wait for the sickness to go away?

You should ask your doc for this pill for nausea. I got some and it started with a z or something. I took one and it disolves on your tounge and then the other one I lost lol. So I just deal with it. But make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins daily like supposed to. And just let it go away. I started late on my sickness, like at 10-11 weeks so thats why I still have mine. Yours might go away sooner, but the milk is good, make sure you are eating healthy cereal and pasta and bread are ok.

You have just plain pasta? With nothing? I like to have plain pasta with some butter and lawrys seasoning salt sprinkled on it, its really good. But last week I couldnt put anything in my stomach, it just hurt me. But try to take something more down when your not feeling so sick. But the guys will get mad! Lol. Jose gets mad all the time for little things like not drinking enough water or juice (which I do!) but they will nag! Lol

Its very normal to loose weight during your first trimester if you have severe morning sickness. Some girls loose up to 10-15 lbs before they start gaining some pregnancy weight, so its ok that you lost 4 lbs.... But if you cant eat normal, you should definelty be takin your vitamins. Soon you'll be able to keep stuffing your face, and you will never get full... Well you will get full but you wont want to stop eating lol... I wasnt able to eat much either in the begining but I dont think I lost any weight cuz I didnt eat much before I was pregnant, so I think I was just at my low low weight, where I could eat like 1 meal a day and not loose any weight from it... I dont know why but I could never eat alot at a time, and I would only eat 1-2 meals a day. I just wasnt hungry ever. But it all changed when I got pregnant, I was hungry all the time, but I couldnt keep the food down, and now I can keep it down and I dont get full easily.

Yeah i'm taking flintstones vitamins - they're the only ones that don't make me sick! I take one in the morning and one at night. My doc says that's ok.

Yeah just plain pasta. Sometimes a little tomato sauce and sometimes spray butter, not the real kind, but mostly plain.

My doc gave me something for nausea, but it made me throw up so I stopped taking it.
