Pimples And/or Boils
Avatar
Question my son has two pimple/boils on his head. His hair is covering
them. He washes his hair everyday. Does anyone know if this
is a disease or is this just a pimple and/or boil and how he can
get rid of them. Also, is this a beginning of a serious disease
and should he see a doctor immediately? He is quite upset
over this and I am worried. Thanks for your input.

Acne
I have a brother-in-law that had severe acne when he was younger. What you described sounds like what he had. I believe he was put on some type of oral medication. I would suggest going to the dermatologist. They have so many new treatments now that nobody should have to suffer with the embarrassment of severe acne.

Take care!

If it is a boil (which are common wherever there are hair follicles), then u may want to get it looked at by a doctor. In the mean time...Do not sueeze it!!! Put warm compresses on the area...The heat will help to start breaking the puss up. Aslo, put honey (i know, sounds weid, and gross, but trust me it works) on the boil, and let sit for several minutes. Do a warm compress again after the honey. Do this several times during the day, and chances are by evening, the boil will be ready to start oozing. Pull the skin away from the boil to see if it wil pop...Do not squeeze..Gently pull the skin away. If stuff comes out, great, if not, continue the hot compress and honey. Just dab the icky stuff with a tissue (its really nasty and gross...Green and yellow stuff...Super nasty, so beware) whatever you do, do not use anything with an alcohol base (ie rubbing alcohol) because that will seperate the puss under the skin, and make it worse by spreading. Also, keep polysporne on and around the boil. This will help prevent further spread as boils are highly contagious.

Good luck. These things hurt like hell. I have had 2 before...They are gross and really really sore. The sooner it is taken care of, the better. Smile
