Hi, I am hoping someone can help me. I am 34 and was diagnoised w/ epilepsy 2 yrs ago. I woke up with a pain in my neck (pinched nerve) it was so severe it caused me to feel like I was going to throw up. I was sweaty and before I could make it to the bathroom I fainted. My husband called 911. I came to soon but was taken to the er to get checked. Mri was fine and so was ct scan. They did an eeg and it came back abnormal. So, my dr diagnoised me with epilepsy. She said if I was seizure free for two years I could come off the meds. Well, I have been and she still said no since the eeg came back abnormal again. There have been no other "seizures" in two years and to top it off I am on trileptal and only take 450mg a day. I want to have a baby and the perinatologist(spelling?!) said he did not think I needed to be on the meds since the dosage was so low that if I was having seizures the meds would not stop them. Does any one know about the dosage of trileptal or can give me any feedback about having an abnormal eeg but not have epilepsy? I thought it was odd to have one "episode" and be diagnoised with epilepsy. The other dr said that eeg's are subjective and you can get two different readings from two different dr's. What do you all think?
