Ok, I feel really embarrassed but I just wanted to check on something. I've had quite a few small white like spots on my penis for about half a year to a year now and i’m worrying that it could be genital warts. I don't understand it much so i've been reading threw all the threads but I don't get what the virus can actually do? I read somewhere that you can go blind Exclamation
i don't really want to go to the doctor seen as it will involve parents and embarrassment but if it came to it I probably would

if someone could just clear this up for me I would really appreciate it Sad

thanks!

Don't be embarassed. This is a health forum and there are a lot of people with questions that come here.
Regardless of what age you are, you can go to planned parenthood and get an exam. This you can do alone and don't need a parent. Because they have a sliding scale payment method, you don't have to have health insurance. They simply look at what you make if you have a job (if you don't, they give you the lowest amount) and base your exam cost off of that.
If these spots do indeed look like warts, they will be raised slightly and have a cauliflower like texture then you probably do have hpv (genital warts). Most men will not show any other symptom besides the actual warts. There are no actual proven studies that show that hpv has any health effect on men. But if you don't use protection and give a woman hpv it is a horrible virus. Because it is a viral infection, not a bacterial, it is not curable. The most common effect of hpv for women, is that it changes their cervical cells making them cancerous. It is the number one cause of cervical cancer which without treatment and even with can kill women.

You should get it checked out, not only for yourself, but for the future of any person you are with sexually. The best of luck.
