Extremely eHealthy
A yeast infection is an infection of the vagina. Symptoms include a burning sensation. Its extremely uncomfortable. There are one and three day treatments that work like a charm, but i'd definitely consult a doctor before taking anything while pregnant.

Yeast are very common in the vagina, a yeast infection usually occurs when your normal flora in the vagina get off-balance (such as a ph change - or often happening when you take anti-biotics), actually yi's are very common in pregnant women due to the hormonal changes which alter the vaginal environment. Symptoms may be as bad as pain, redness, and a thick cottage-cheese like infection, or as mild as a bit of itching and some whitish clumpy bits of discharge, they vary greatly. There are non-rx remedies to yi's if you're interested in them (yeast infection homepage is a good place to start) and also rx medications available. I'm not sure how many are ok to use while pregnant, though with a condition so common asyi"s are in pregnany women, i"m sure there are a few ok rx options.

I didn't get my very first yi until I was 7 mo's in my first pg. Yes, go to doc, and there are certain meds that are ok for pg and some are not. Esp. That early. Pg hormones makes one prone to them also, once they start. You can pass it to yer hubby, and he to you. (he can even become just a carrier, keep giving it to you but not "contract it" himself.) some say yogurt helps fight the bacteria.
Another symptom I don't remember mentioned is itching. They start going away about a day after first nightly application.

Hope all goes well,
m~r
