Linden Method Helped Me!!!
I did the Linden Method and it completely cured my agoraphobia!! I was too terrified to leave my apartment thinking that if I stepped outside my door and into the hallway that I would some how die. Just the thought of leaving put me in tears.

I can't believe how fearful I was of the outside world! I have not had an anxiety or panic attack either.

I did everything it told me to do, including changing my diet and doing light excersize everyday.

The Linden Method really changed my life for the better and I recommend it to anyone suffering from anxiety and panic disorders!!!

ibs-d and linden method, hypnotherpay etc
to be perfectly frank the linden method is basic hypnotherapy/meditation, which does to some extent work for ibs but sort of not, it is of course great for anxiety, panic attacks etc, at least as good as any other hypnotherapy
i got the linden cd which i think is very good for phobias or fear but not so good for ibs because ibs-d is often a real and not purely psychosematic experience, the behavioural fear and ritual of course is not but i think it follows the ibs-d rather than lead, ie ibs causes panic so u can cure panic with hypno but u still need to fix ibsd. so you have to isolate the gi trigger, in my case the gi trigger seems to be alochol, coffee, stress etc, which sets me off usually not just one but a range of things set u off which makes it hard to identify. after identification its usually too far gone behaviourly and then have to use cbt, hypnotherapy, linden, yoga etc to manage the now programmed fear, for me the fear has become of being trapped without bathroom, ie trains, plances, picnics, meetings, road trips etc, both are real both need to be dealt with together and individually, ive been suffering for 3 years, not long but i was fairly accomplished by societys standards so i was forced to focus all my attention on this condition, but yes still had to resign, go home and yes was debilitating for a while and yes anywhere i go without a loo still freaks me out. The real way out which the linden method encourages is like any other phobia, start small and work up, ie go to a quiet pub, then a busy pub, then a concert, but make sure you identify trigger as well otherwise the fear can be real and that is where the problem starts
using loperamide and clogging urself up is also a real good way to manage fear for ibsd, herbal placebos works as well to some extent(doctors say imodium, herbal are all ok make sure you get tests for cancer etc first and see a doctor in case its something more serious than ibs obviously)
to deprograme i use imodium when i have important meetings etc, but its good to not do often as u can get constipated and some blood in stool if too dry so use sparingly, dont use it as a cure,
my advice for ibsd anxiety , first identify gi trigger, use a food diary, importantly admit the things u love make u sick, quit ur job if its stressful, change ur lifestyle (very f'ing hard if your a social person) reprogram with hypnotherapy, linden etc and start again...build up slowly
hope it helps, my recovery is still in progress but like others i have tried almost everything AD drugs, herbal, yoga etc, only hypnotherapy and toning down stress is helping

best
b
