Mike and I sat down and ran the numbers a couple of days ago, and it looks like we'll be able to buy a house before the baby comes! We're looking in the $120k to $150k price range, but houses where we are are expensive, especially considering its alabama! Http://www.Spiceland.Org has pictures of some of the ones we looked at. We're not buying anything soon, just looking.

How much are homes where you live? Our small condos are in the 300,000 range and houses go for 750,000 and over and some areas can cost a million and over. I know this one place spanish hills, like 3-4 miles from me, those gor for more than a million for homes. I wish I could afford that

how many square feet are you talking about though? Houses here in normal neighborhoods go for around $75/sq ft, meaning around $150,000 for a 2000 sq ft home. That is low for some places but super high for alabama!

The super-top-of-the-line homes, like the 5000 sq ft ones go for around $115/sq ft, so 5000 sq ft would be $575,000.

There are million dollar homes here too, but we're not buying one!

Lol im not sure about the square feet but I can give you examples. Lol. Ok a trailer home can be as low as 150,000 but no less. A 3 bedroom home with an ok yard will be in the 300,000s, a bigger home like a 2 story and nice yard or pool will be in the 750,000s, and big rich homes, but small rooms nicely built with big yards will be a million and over. I look at the newspaper on homes and im like wow!!!!!! Because they are nice looking but all so expensive! I think if anything, maybe one day I could afford the trailer. Lol.

Where do you live? That is high! A 3-bedroom ranch is usually between 1400 and 1800 sq feet, which means those homes are going for $200 per sq ft!

lol you can't even buy a one bedroom home here!! The smallest i've seen is two, and you can get one for about $80,000.

My parents live in south georgia and they bought a plantation farm house (around 3000 sq ft) and 40 acres for about $85,000!
