Hello, I was on diane-35 for 2 years with no side effects, then for 1 1/2 year I wasn't on the birth control pill. I've been very irregular and having my period for about 12 or 13 days since i'm off the pill, and I started taking alesse on the first day of my period this month, wich was a sunday. I have been having my period since then, and it's been 15 days. I didn't miss a single pill. It's very light but very annoying. I really don't know what to do I would just like everything to go back to normal. I'm supposed to have my period on the placebo pills next week, will I just not stop bleeding until then? Thank you for your comments or advices.

It is hard to tell. It may just take time for your body to respond to these new pills. You will probably still get your period, but it should be light as you have not stopped bleeding yet.
But if it does not go away a couple of days into your new pack then call the doctor. It does take a full three months for your body to fully respond to a new b/c pill, but my doc said that bleeding/spotting, whatever should not be constant for any period of time. The hormonal level in that pill is probably just not strong enough for your body.

I had that same thing happen to me when I started taking the pill. I started on orthotricyclen, and I bled really heavy for about 9 days, and then lightly for the rest of the month. I told my doc, and she said that it was because the estrogen level in the pill was too strong for me. She perscribed one with less active hormones, and the next time I got my period it came on time and it was normal.

If you keep bleeding into the new pack of pills, ask your doc about the hormone level
