I am about to take my 3rd shot. I was like you.. I was 3 months with nothing after the first shot then bled for over a month. Then it was almost a month and a half before I got my period again and it lasted 2 weeks. I haven't had it since, but it's only been a month. My doctor told me it takes the first 6 months of being on the shot to regulate yourself and even then it might not be once a month regular. Some people stop getting after awhile. Some get it once per shot (i had a friend who had that.. She bled for 2 weeks but only got her period 4 times a year). I would give it some time, it sounds like you are still adjusting.

I only know one person who is on depo and doesn't get her period, or has a normal one I should say.
Everyone else I know who was on depo got a constant period. It never went away. Well, most of them dealt for nine months, but no thank you. Not worth it at all.

When I was on the shot I didnt get my period at all, I was on the pill it was called orth-tri-cyclin and I went from the pill to the shot, I liked the shot b/c I didnt get my period at all I would spt for a day then it was over everyones body is different once your body is use to the hormones it will respond diffrently, all I can tell you is time is the key

Time is key if you want to bother with it. Like I said, my doctor always told me that by the fourth month if your period has not evened out that it most likely will not.
There are few women who are lucky enough to not get their period on depo. The rest just bleed the whole time.

I have 2 friends that went on the shot around the same time one stopped having her period after her4th shot, the other stopped after her second shot, so it is possible that you will not bleed the whole time, so this means your periods do have a chance to even out even after your 4th month

I was on depo from june 2003- february 2004 and I had my daughter june 7th and got my frist shot june 9th and I bled from june 7th - february 15th. I stopped bleedin until may 4th and stopped may 11th. I went on the patch may 16th. So I have been on the patch for 6 days now and havent bled at all. It's so wonderful so far.

I was on depo, I started the shot while on my period, I bled and bled for the whole 3 months and was afraid to get the shot again, then I got my next shot just after my period thinking maybe the reason for the last month of having my period was because i'd got the shot while on my period. So the second shot, I was off my period and I started bleeding. This led me to bleed for almost 2 years!!! I would never ever ever go on depo again...Ever. I went through tampons like crazy. It was just uncomfortable all the time, I didn't get bad cramps, but it really hampered and almost killed my sex life. Good luck with it, hope you do not have the same dilemma.

Yeah, as I have said in my other posts, depo works well for very, very few women. I would not recommend it to anyone. And who has four or even two shots worth of time to bleed every day? That is just crazy. Four depo shots is a year. Two is six months. If you want to bleed for that long more power to you, but I think it is pretty immature to recommend it to someone else.

Ok this is weird, why did all you guys bleed and I didn't? Either there is something wrong with you or with me.. Would hypothyroidism affect it at all. That may have been why I would go for about a few months without a period and didn't start my period until 15

There isn't anything wrong with any of you. Some women do not bleed at all on depo. Some bleed normally and some bleed all of the time. It is just because it effects everyone differently.
