Well, I have naturally dark blonde hair. As you guys already know, I dyed my hair black and blonde (light blonde). Basically it looks like my hair is black with blonde highlights...But now my roots are starting to grow out and I was wondering if there was any way for me to get back to my natural hair color..Or at least dye it the closet color to my natural color??? Cuz I know you can't dye black a lighter color...It wont show up. So how would I do it?

Hey the only way to get rid of black is to bleach ur hair than get a toner on. I dyed my hair black once (caps) big mistake!! I am naturally pale it made me even paler I went to the salon to get rid of it. Put a color over top of ur hair when u bleached it. Or go to ur salon lol.

Have you ever had your hair stripped? I've heard that fries your hair too. I dunno, I just want my blonde back. Grrrr.

A great way to get moisture back in your hair is to follow these rules:

1 - dont wash your hair everyday, you can condition everyday but shampoo only every other day.
2 - when you condition your hair, do it early in your shower and keep the conditioner on while you do everything else like wash yourself and shave, etc.
3 - when you rinse the conditioner out, you don't have to be super careful about getting it all out. You can pretty much just rinse for about 5 seconds and get the majority of it out, but even with normal conditioner it's good for your hair to leave some in.

That's what I was afraid of. Looks like this experience was just like my spiral perm experience...Only I actually liked this one at first! The reason I want to change back to my natural color or at least close to it is because now that I have a tan (and my roots are growing out), I think my blonde hair would look better.

You could just streak your hair really dark until all the black is grown out so it looks like you're gradually getting lighter... Not sure if that will work, i've never done it or seen it done with black, but i've seen it done with people who bleached their hair then wanted it back natural.

I dunno. I think if I get my hair stripped or dyed anymore it'll be all crunchy. It's really soft right now, and it hasn't been that way in a while cuz every summer I kept highlighting it a lighter blonde. Right now i'm debating whether I should go through the torturous process of letting it grow out and then cutting it off, or getting it stripped and having blonde hair sooner....But also having to deal with crunchy hair Confused . I'm going to start leaving my hair alone from now on. I think I have a pretty natural color, I don't know why I keep messing with it.

You can try dying it a light color but it might make it brown. Like if you get a blonde color, it might turn the black brown but im not sure. Lol. My hair is nat. Dark brown and when I put lighter colors it works. Ive only done that once though.

I had a friend who has really dark brown hair..Almost black and she tried to dye her hair a lighter color, but it turned it orange Shocked . Also, when I was getting my hair done the lady was like, don't try to go out and by hair dye and dye over this because it will turn your highlights green. Ehh.

Hey I dyed my hair a chocolate cherry color, which was real dark (almost black) brown with a slightly red tint, well, since I already had red tinted hair, when I turned my head my hair gleamed fire-engine red! It was crazy! My roots started to grow back and it look crappy because I have a light brown/ dark blond natural hair color so I tried dying it ash brown. Big mistake. My hair turned orange. So I am jus letting it grow back. Over the past 9 months it is about 1/3 grown out. Half if I cut my hair shorter. Lol. My advice, don't do anything to your hair yourself. Either have it professionally stripped or just deal with it. And don't dye it anymore! Lol....I know I won't. It's too much hassle.

Geez that must suck. I think i'm going to do what you're doing and just let it grow out. I don't think I could afford to pay for all that stripping and dying right now anyway.

I had a stylist dye my hair black on accident. My hair was about 6 inches past my shoulders. I had to go to a stylist and she cut my hair to my chin and then took 6 hours bleaching my hair, putting on a toner, highlighting the parts that didn't take... It was hell. I'd just get your hair cut as short as you can stand and keep getting it trimmed. You could just bleach your own hair and then put a different color on it. I know there are bleaches that they sell at drugstores that bleach black hair.
