Q: Is It Possible?

This is very embarrassing, but I had an affair with a man for 1-1/2 years, and it ended 4 years ago. We never had sex with anyone else during that time, except for our spouses. I was apparently out of my mind.

This man recently had a scare because of a skin infection, and his white cell count was way up, but it did not turn out to be hiv.

I've had a number of complete blood counts over the past few years due to another physical disability, and they've all been well within the normal range. So are the ones our spouses have had.

I have no swollen glands or any other physical abnormalities except for my pre-existing musculoskeletal problem.

Is it at all possible that i'm hiv-positive, though? I'm extremely scared and paranoid.

Your Question
Yes you are being paranoid and neurotic. Hiv would should up in a blood test 6 months after contracting it. If you have had blood tests since you were with this man, and they were negative, you are fine. Countyour blessings, and let this scare be a lesson to you...Do not have affairs!

Risks
If the guy used a condom or was circumcised and you didn't perform any of high risk forms of sex (i.E. Anal intercourse) your chances of being infected are very low. Especially if the guy is still healthy. You might ask him?
