Suggestions For Tinnitus
Greetings friendlydoctor,

i consulted my favorite book, "prescription for nutritional healing" by james f. Balch, md and phyllis a. Balch, cnc. It's a must-have in every household ;o).

Recommended nutrients include:

coenzyme q10 - 30mg daily - powerful antioxidant. Crucial in the effectiveness of the immune system and circulation to the ears.

Maganese - 10mg daily - deficiency has been linked to ear disorders.

Multivitamin and mineral complex - as directed on label - to provide a balance of all nutrients.

Potassium - 50mg daily - important for a healthy nervous system and transmission of nerve impulses.

Vitamin a - 15,000 iu daily (if pregnant do not exceed 10,000 iu daily) - to boost immunity, increase resistance to infection and strengthen mucous membranes.

Vitamin c - 3,000-6,000 mg daily - needed for proper immune function and to aid in preventing ear infections.

Vitamin d - 400 iu daily - enhances immunity.

Vitamin e - 600 iu daily - powerful antioxidant that increases circulation.

Zinc lozenges - 50mg daily - do not exceed a total of 100mg daily from all supplements - quickens immune response; aids in reducing infection.

Eucalyptus, hyssop, mullein, and thyme have decongestant properties, which may alleviate ringing in the ears.

Other herbs that may help to improve circulation and blood flow to the ear area include butcher's broom, cayenne, chamomile, ginger root, turmeric, and yarrow.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Be well,

earthmom

Hm. A physician with whom I consulted long distance once told me that CoQ10 would become my friend, after I told him about my severe tinnitus.

It has been a year now since I have been taking CoQ10, very high quality, and other supplements because I have been suffering from adrenal exhaustion, and discovered I have Hashimoto's, which is an autoimmune condition of the thyroid. Also, several other ailments that are connected to the general debility I have from years of stress and sleep deprivation.

I now wonder whether as long as I continue to do everything I can toward foundational repair of my system, I can expect the tinnitus to resolve.
