Other People Who Suffer From Tension Type Headaches? Posted: 05-11-04 22:59pm
Hi,
i'm anke, a 22 years old university
student from the netherlands. Since
about 4 months I have been suffering from
tension type headaches. These headaches
are constantly present but differ in
severeness; sometimes I can cope with the
pain but sometimes the pain is so severe I
can almost do nothing at all. It is a
huge strain on my everyday life. I can
not go to university fulltime (i now only
follow one course). I can no longer
make appointments with friends because I
don't know if I will be able to keep the
appointment; if I will suffer too much
pain. Since this is a everyday struggle
and I have nobody to share these
experiences with who really understands
what i'm going through, I am looking for
people who experience the same. Are
there any people on this forum who are
also coping with tension type headaches?
Please send me an e-mail. I would
really like to share thoughts and
experiences.
Greetings from europe,
anke

Headaches Posted: 09-01-04 20:51pm
Lois,
i have a headache almost every week, they
get so bad I have to stay in bed, and I am
always missing work. They started out
being just a dull ache and I could take a
pain pill, slept for about an hour and I
would be just fine, know they are so bad I
can not function at all. I have had a
mri, which showed nothing, and they told
me to go home and take a look at my life
and try to figure out what I am so
stressed about, alot of help?????? They
did give me imitrex, 50mg, which helps if
it doesn't get bad, if it does I usually
have to take 2 tablets. I usually feel
one coming on when I first wake up and
over my eyes the pain is really servere
and I will take something first thing, I
do clinch my teeth at night so I feel it
may be from tmj but I had one dentist tell
me I didn't have tmj and about 10 years
ago after a car accident one sent me to a
specialist and they told me I did. Who
do you believe, I am going to go to my
dendtist to be checked out one more time.
I can not keep going thru this weekly or
sometimes daily the pain is becoming to
much for me. I enjoy my work and I am
tired of not being able to go.
