Q: Very High Triglycerides From Tamoxifen

I just had a blood test which showed triglyceride level of 5150, when it was 242 four years ago. The only medication I was on for that four years was tamoxifen (prevention - I have not had breast cancer). My cancer clinic Dr. Never heard of it raising these levels but I found medical articles on the internet which confirmed that this sometimes happens. I have an appointment with a lipids expert, and my Dr.'s have taken me off tamoxifen, and put me on tricor and crestor. I am 52, had a full hysterectomy 2 years ago, work out 5 times per week, maybe 20 pounds overweight. Does anyone have advice or similar situation?

Switch to Natural If Possible
I would continue taking what the doctor prescribed, but I would also begin to take some natural supplementation and a little down the track you would most likely find that you won't need prescription medications anymore

natural supplements that can lower triglycerides are: guggul (these are reportedly more effective than prescribed meds with no dangerous side effects), beta-sitosterol supplements, pantethine supplement...These are just to name a few

hope that helps

all the best
