Hi, im 17 and ive been w/ my boyfriend for about 6 months now. Ordinarilly we use condoms;but about one and a half, maybe 2 weeks before my period was supposed to come down, we had unprotected sex. He didnt come in me but he has expelled pre cum into me. Usually my period come around the 28th to the 2nd. Those are the days when I usually begin my period. I am pretty regular. Today is the 14th and I havent started my perioid. Confused Im not really worrying about it because I know my chiild would have a good life. Ive heard that stress can cause your period to be late. So far, there has been no symptoms. But my mom said that for her first month she had no idea that she was pregnant. I told myself that I would wait until the 5th of this coming month to find out. Lately my boyfriend and I have had uunprotected sex. Should I or should I not wonder?

I would definitely get a test at this point. Even though getting a positive result won't change how you feel about things, you need to prepare early on for caring for the child and the very first step in that direction is to have a healthy pregnancy. So, please confirm either way and start with your healthy diet, vitamins, and medical care. And feel free to write if you have any questions, concerns, etc. Good luck!! Laughing

Should I Feel This Way?

thank you for your advice. Im kind of nervous about taking the test because if it comes out negative I would be kinda bummed. I know that im only 17, but I would be happy to learn that I was pregnant. I see a million teen parents out there who do not deserve to be blessed with a child. Have it be because the father wasnts nothing to do with them or the mother is way too immature. It would be wonderful if I was, but in a way it would be wonderful if I wasnt? Am I the only person who feels this way?

It's perfectly normal to feel the way you do. Mixed feelings are to be expected. Any and every child is a blessing, but don't let the joy of potential motherhood gloss over the reality of being responsible for another person for the rest of your life. It is very admirable to want to have a baby (if you are indeed pregnant) and to want to care for her yourself, but in everything you do, and every decision you make, from the pregnancy forward, will affect this precious little individual. Please take her well being into account with everything you do/decide from now on.

As for procrastinating about taking the test, taking the test itself doesn't change the outcome. You are only delaying the inevitable at this point. I trust you know this already - and I do understand how you feel. I think it's time, however, to do perhaps the first adult thing in the (potential) pregnancy - get the results and begin your medical care.

Take care! Smile

Thank you for your advicec. I dont have anyone else who is in, or has been, in the same prediciment that I am in. Im going to wait until this weekend to go buy a test so that me and my boyfriend can be there at the same time to see the results. I think thats the best way to do it. If I am we can find a doctor and look up or find out things to do to have a healthy pregnancy. And if im not than we can take the burdon off of us and be careful from now on. Like I said earlier, thank you so much for your advice and I will update you on the results when I get them!! :d

Hey, maybe about 3 or 4 days ago I started experiencing this really weird pain in the top and middle of my belly. I dont know what it was. It didnt hurt bad..But I knew it was there. When I laid down for a few minutes it kinda went away. I guess you could say it felt more weird than hurt. More like uncomphortable. I havent taken a pg test yet. My boyfriend is just facing the fact that "im pregnant". Ive stopped smoking and im trying to eat better. Not just because I might be pregnant, but for myself! If you know what that feeling that I get in my belly is, please write me back!!
Thanks!! Laughing

Hi again - I haven't heard of anything like what you're describing being related to pregnancy specifically. Sometimes I get a tightness in the muscles around my uterus (at this point, 6 weeks along, right above the pubic area and lower abdomen between the hip bones) and occasionally a cramp or two. But I haven't had any pain or discomfort above that. You will tend to experience more gas discomfort, however, so that might be it. I will not be online this weekend though, so if you do wait to get a test until then, please post so I can read it when I check back in on monday. I'm anxious to hear! :d

as for the smoking, good luck and good for you!! I was a pack a day smoker until I found out about the pregnancy. In seven days time, I have cut down to only 5 cigarettes a day and will be smoke-free (god help me!) by this friday. What a good reason to quit finally!

Again, good luck and keep writing Smile
