wellbutrin not working but need to relax Posted: 02-28-08 12:56pm
I took serzone for several years and loved
it. LOVED IT! I wanted to go natural and
cleanse my body, so i stopped taking it 3
years ago. Things were fine. But now I
am super edgy/health forum with my kids,
husband, etc. I don't feel depressed,
except for the fact that I can't seem to
lose weight and that affects my mood big
time. But mostly I just want to be able
to relax... let the kids be kids (10 &
14), let my house not be perfect...
CHILL!!! The only time i feel relaxed is
if I have had a few cocktails, which i am
trying to avoid because of the weight
thing. Anyway... I have been trying to go
on wellbutrin (3rd time right now) but
can't seem to get past the first few days.
I'm extra health forum, nervous, shaky
and can't sleep. My questions are: Since
depression isn't really the problem, is
wellbutrin even the right drug? If so,
will these symptoms go away? Should i
just go back to the serzone since it
worked so good the first time? (warnings
about liver failure make me nervous, but i
got checked often, and it seems all drugs
come with some negetive possibilities) Is
there such a thing as a "CHILL PILL"? I
don't want to feel drugged, but i can't
handle anything that speeds me up at all,
and especially don't want anything that
will put on weight. The serzone was nice
because i just took it before bedtime. I
am in hopes i came to the right place, as
my physicain has no answers and pretty
much just subscribes anything i ask her
to. Anyone have any experience or advise
on any of this? Please?

If depression isn't the problem, you
should talk to your doctor and pinpoint
what is. It seems like you may have an
anxiety issue this time around (constantly
on edge about your weight, the kids, how
the house looks, etc). Wellbutrin can
make anxiety worse. I'd definitely
recommend talking to him and figuring out
what medication is best for you. If it is
in fact depression and the other brand
worked better for you, you should talk to
him about switching back. Good luck!!

Thanks PenguinsRus. I did not take the
wellbutrin this morning and already i feel
more relaxed. My doctor is very young and
basically asks me what I would like to try
next, so maybe i will try someone else who
is more knowledgeable in this area??
Again, I appreciate your response.
