I just started taking Loestrin Fe and I'm wondering if anyone else missed their period for the first packet. I didn't, should I be concerned?

Also, I was wondering if you are supposed to start the next packet the day after the last brown pill?

You didn't miss your period, or you did? And if the brown pills are the "period week" pills, then yes, you start the new pack the day after. You should never have a day when you do not take a pill.

If you missed your period and are concerned, then go take a test.

They are the "period week" pills but there are only four of them, and I did miss my period but I live in a small town and if I buy a test... everyone will know and I don't want to cause an uproar of concern. I'm just wondering if it's normal to miss your period when you first start birth control.

It depends on the kind of birth control. I don't know if you're at risk. How did you start the pills: during your period, or not?

The first day of my period.

yeah, it's normal!! I wouldn't worry. Because loestrin has a shorter placebo week, it's common to make your period severely lighten or go away.

Well then you were safe immediately. I'm glad someone else stopped by to give better advice than I can!

I take the generic form of this pill and I have heard missing periods is a common side effect with this pill. I never missed mine in all the time I have been on it but I have heard many saying about this side effect and how they were scared they might be pregnant but they were not.

I take Loestrin 24 FE and haven't had my period since I switched pills in November. And you start a new pack immediately after the placebo pills.

Eiri- maybe we can collaborate on this-

I know loestrin does this because (she was talking about loestrin 24) there is only a 4 day placebo week, it's marketed that way, and because I was on it.

But do all low-dose pills tend to do this?

Or if anyone else knows..... ??

loestrin 28 day missed two periods
Is it normal to miss two periods in a row? Last time I had sex was in July and I did miss two pills in one week that month and right after that I did have sex but the next week I did have a period when I was supposed to. I have not had a period in August and in September because I should be on my period now i am taking the brown pills now and still no period. I have not had sex since July and I have taken home pregnancy test and it was neg. Does anyone know what it could be? I do have an ovarian cyst but Im not sure if this has anything to do with this? If anyone could help with a possible answer I'd appreciate it.

I'd assume it had to do with your ovarian cyst and not pregnancy. Also, the pill could just be lessening your period anyway. If it keeps up, you'll probably want to see a doctor.
