Some people say you have to tell your parents right away if your on theyre health insurance. Why is that? Because I wanted to wait awhile before telling them. But is there someway they find out before i want them to by being on there insurance? Anyway of avoiding this?

Whenever you use your parents health insurance, they are sent a notice from the insurance telling them what the insurance paid and what they didn't pay. Additionally, a bill comes from the doctor's office for whatever the insurance didn't cover.

You need to tell your parents. Some insurance does not cover pre-natal appointments for children. This is one of the first steps in you being a parent. Getting the insurance situation figured out.

If you don't know if you are pregnant, take a home pregnancy test. Or you could go to a planned parenthood office near you - they do FREE pregnancy testing.

You still need to tell your parents as soon as possible.

You need to talk to your parents. They are going to be the best ones to help you in your situation. Maybe an aunt? Or a teacher you are close to?

I don't know anything about insurance in Canada. Sorry.

Once you become pregnant MOST insurance companies will not cover you under prenatal care. It's considered to be a pre-existing condition. But you can however try to get help through your local medicaid office if your parents insurance dosen't cover prenatal care. Good luck to you!

I think most things will be covered. I had a problem with it since I was in a different province for university and for some reason my health card was no accepted, but you're living at home so things should be fine. Some of your care will be covered through your parents health plans from work, just like our dental and eye doctor appointments are. I'd really suggest talking to them because they ARE going to find out sooner or later and getting the best care for your baby is what is most important. When I told my parents, they were most upset that I hadn't told them earlier.
