Hi and thanks in advance for your help

So heres the deal, I recently noticed this long lasting ocasional cough. I would say I cough 2 or 3 times a day most of this cough happens when I drink something cold. Sometime I feel a tickle in my throat when a lie down in my bed or cough but again its just sometimes. But everytime I drink for example a cold soft drink as Pepsi or Cola I cough a few times. I used to smoke 1 cig every day but for only 6 months and I quit last week. Im really worried because Im going to join the military and I dont want to be disqualified for this.
