Q: short and light period

my husband and i are trying to conceive..we have been trying for a month..my period came and was shorter than usual but the first two days were heavy and then it was very light..i sometimes think i have symptoms but i am scared that its all in my head bc i want to be pregnant..my period was 3 wks ago and i have a longer cycle than most....i have not taken an ept
