Guess not. If you are getting to this
topic via your emails, that's why you can
see it. You'll notice that once you go
back out to the main forum, it's
"missing". It must have been reported.

To get back at the OP point, I think the
word is used strictly as an insult when
said directly to a woman and it is
definitely degrading. But, many use it as
a staple of their conversations to
describe a woman in general or even
others. I think what killbill is wondering
is why this particular word instead of
another is considered vulgar.
Just a thought, but the c word does sound
harsher when spoken than the p word. Maybe
it's that short, clipped word that shocks
more. I believe the English language goes
through rapid changes as more and more
slang is added causing the spoken word to
reflect modern culture.
I rarely use profanity and never insult
people, so I don't use these words.

I personally don't use it either, but
you're right in that it is the way it
sounds in our language that adds to its
harshness. It is a very hard word -
meaning audibly hard, not referencing any
meaning behind it.

My boyfriend sometimes has a bad habit of
describing people who really bother him as
"cu*ty". I think the word actually sounds
so gross that it makes me laugh. I don't
really use the word seriously... maybe as
much as I'd use any other "bad" word
casually. I'd never actually say it to
anyone's face and mean it.

I think p*us*y is worse, it like saying
woman are nothing more than a piece of
a-s-s, although I do feel tham c-word is
worse than calling some a witch with a "b"
