Had biopsy 10/16/07 and no cancer was identified with a 5.5 PSA; however, 1/15/08 i had a 25.6 PSA reading and on 1/25/08 my PSA read 36.2 and the urologist found no infection or enlargement of the prostate. What are your opinions on a third biopsy while awaiting a percent free PSA result?

High PSA
This sounds just like my Dad's case. His PSA level kept rising with no enlargement of the prostate and no infection. His biopsy showed no cancer present so the doctor told him to take a "wait and see" approach. It turned out that my Dad had cancer the whole time, but his prostate got smaller and when they took a biopsy, because of the reduced size, they couldn't find the cancer. He had the fast spreading cancer and by the time they finally removed the prostate, it had spread into the lymph nodes. My advice to you is if your doctor is taking a "wait and see" approach to this then get another doctor because once the PSA begins to climb as fast as your's seems to be then you have to take action and get the prostate removed.
