Q: Dating best friend's brother

Background info: I'm 20 year old female who has never dated or had a boyfriend before. My best friend of over 2 years and her mom wanted to set her 21 year old brother up with me. They did and we just started dating. He stayed the weekend (shared a bed) and I've been over to his hotel room. Obviously, I am not going to tell my best friend that we did anything because she doesn't want to hear that. Today, she said that she thought we were moving too fast because he shared a bed with me. She's 19 and has a 16 year old boyfriend. I don't want to lose my friendship with her, but this is stressing me out. My home is a 20 hour drive and I think she's worried that I'll stay with him and then immediately leave him once I've gone home. I keep on getting mixed messages from her. First she was setting me up with him and now we're moving too fast. It really isn't any of her business. What can I do???? I will talk to him about this, but I would really like to talk to my best friend first.

Thank you!!!

that's what you should do : sit your best friend down and talk to her about EVERYTHING that's been going on. how you feel and everything, and politely remind her that she is the one who set you up with him. another thing, when you "shared a bed" are you saying you had sex with him or just slept in the same bed??

keep me updated please

Thanks for the quick response! I will talk to her when she gets back from her midterm. Shared a bed means no sex! I am not ready and we both want to go slow. We did do some stuff, but that's as far as its going for now!

Update: I still haven't been able to talk to her yet. She's been avoiding me and being quite rude to me. I'll give her a couple days and let her think things through. I've told my boyfriend about this and he isn't too worried. I worry a lot, and don't want to lose my best friend! However, I'm sure she'll get used to us being together. I think she might be jealous since I won't be around as often and her brother will be spending more time with me. But when she's with her boyfriend I never get to spend time with her, so I've had to deal with what she's feeling right now. She's a very sensitive person...if you say the wrong thing than she will blow up at you. She just needs to grow up a bit and think things through. I'll let ya'll know what happens in the next couple of days!! Thanks Very Happy

I would tell her you appreciate her looking out for you but what happens after the set up between you and another being is really none of her business. You are an adult and i'm sure he is too and you can decide what is too fast.

Update, she came and apologized to me and said she is really happy that we are together. She said that she needed to realize that we are both adults and are able to make our own decisions! Thanks for everything guys!!!!
