mild cp diagnosis

I am wondering about mild cp. Is it possible that someone could have mild cp and not have been diagnosed (the child I'm speaking of is 17)?

My son has had some things that we've noticed over the years, but no one has ever been able to tell us why he has these things going on. The one that has bothered him the most has been his shaking hands. They don't shake all the time--they shake when he tries to do something (using fine motor skills). The doctors don't really have a reason for this and say it's nothing to worry about. We kept thinking it may get better as he gets older, but it has not. He is able to write, and he has basically tried to ignore it, but it does upset him. The other thing is that he can't run---he walks okay, but when he tries to run, it's like his legs won't bend right---he's always been this way. We've tried stretching and it doesn't seem to help him at all. I know this may seem like nothing compared to what so many people with cp go through, but I've really been thinking about this lately and just began to read about cp. He also had to have 2 years of speech therapy when he was younger----he had a lot of problems with forming his words correctly. Thankfully, he speaks fine now. He has grown without any problems, except that his spine has a deformity (Scheureman's Kyphosis). The doctors have said that he grew so fast and his spine couldn't keep up with his rate of growth and now he has a permanent curve in his spine.

At birth, he was in distress---he had meconium staining, and his heart rate would fall and then rise---this happened many times before they decided to do an emergency c-section. Then, they used a suction vacuum on his head to pull him out of the uterus---they said they wanted to x-ray his head to make sure he didn't have a fractured skull---it wasn't fractured, and I never thought anything about it again, until now. Anyway, I'm grateful that he hasn't had anymore serious problems than this, but these are things that bother him tremendously--esp. the shaking hands. He quit baseball and only played basketball one year because he just can't run. But he does play football in a defensive position that doesn't require him to run. He has functioned well in life and is in the top of his class. I guess it wouldn't really help any to have a diagnosis at this point in his life, but I would like to have some kind of an explanation for him as to why his hands shake.

Thanks in advance for any insight or information that you can give me.

CP is not a cause of lack of oxygen. Brain bleeds found mostly in premature babies, hydrocephalus, and many other causes. It comes from some form of cerebral trauma. Or it comes from so brain deformity.

I looked at the wikipedia link, and the first thing it says is that cp can be caused by asphxia or hypoxia. Both of these are greater or lesser degrees of oxygen deprivation.
