Q: How to Combat Morning Sickness

Wow, I never thought pregnancy would feel this incredibly weird! I've got morning sickness bad, all day long. I can't hardly eat anything, especially complex foods with lots of flavor. I'm pretty much eating cereal for breakfast, crackers for lunch, and whatever my hubby cooks for supper. Are there any secrets to help this go away???

Hey I was battling this for a while now! Lol what I do is chew alot of mint gum. It helps alot. That and when I feel like puking I close my eyes and rest my head on my desk for a few minutes. Or go outside and get a breath of fresh air. I did anything not to puke. Or I also coughed alot. And gagged like I was gonna puke but I didnt. It makes the feeling go away. Other than that you can get crackers and stuff. But I mostly chewed alot of gum and that made it go away the best. Take tums too. That helps your stomach. And has calcuim. Take about 3 a day.

Good to know there are other people in my situation! Why do they call it morning sickness if it doesn't only come in the morning? Do most people only get it in the morning?

The tums are a great idea! Thanks. I can't hardly get enough calcium. And speaking of calcium, I bought prenatals today to take everyday. They only have 800 mcg of folate, am I supposed to have more? The pharmacist said the difference between over-the-counter and prescription prenatals is the over-the-counters are only allowed to have up to 800 mcg of folate in them.

Well those are fine to take now and when you see your doc they will give you samples or other prenatals to take and whichever one you like, they will keep giving it to you. I like citrocal, because it smells really sweet! Lol

i read on morning sickness once and it said its just an old name for it, even though you can get it at any time of the day even all day. Jose was asking the same thing because he didnt believe I didnt feel good all day when its "morning sickness" so I had to teach him! Lol

the tums are great, because when my stomach was hurting and I didnt know if I had to puke or what, I took a few tums and within a little while I felt so much better! Im gonna buy some more tums on my break!

Try eating before your hungry and stopping before you are full.
Anything with ginger should help... Ginger snaps ginger ale whatever... Crackers are good, but will make you constipated... Hang in there!!
