mass beside testicles comes and goes Posted: 02-25-08 04:05am
Hello, I am 20 years of age and I have a
bit of a problem.
I have noticed in the past few years that
I have an odd mass next to my other two
testicles. This mass comes and goes and
is not painful. It is usually squishy and
I can squish it completely. When I flex
my abdominal muscles, have a mild
constipation or perhaps just don't eat
right, it seems to reappear. It's about
the size of my other testicles and I
recently noticed that if I lay down, it
seems to deflate, but when I sit up it
inflates again.
I think this may be just some sack of
liquid or something, but I was unable to
find much help online so I thought I'd ask
here before seeing a doctor.

Sounds like a hernia to me.

I think you are right, I checked up the
definition of a Hernia and it seems to be
quite similar to what I have. Hmmm.. I am
having trouble figuring out if it is
dangerous or not. I am not sure what
course of action to take, what would you
recommend? If I have had it this long in
my life without pain, does that mean its
alright to go on without trying to fix it?

According to what I've read, as long as
it's not painful, you can wait for the
surgery. The only reason I've been
reading about it is that my husband is
suffering from what we think is a hernia.
But he has MAJOR pain and can't even stand
after a while. He's going to the dr on
Friday and will probably need surgery. I
don't think you have to rush if there are
no symptoms, but you may just want to
check with a dr. You probably can't let
it go forever.
