Has anyone ever had this before? I often feel like I'm being pricked with a pin all over my body! I'll just be sitting there and my arm will hurt and I'll look around for my attracker but no one is there! It doesnt happen as much as it used to but I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my nerves? Another weird thing, the bottom of my left foot will prick, followed immediately by a prick in my stomach! Weird! Its like a double attack by a ninja! Also my hands shake, someone once told me that could be something to do with my nervous system. I could never be a surgen! Can anyone pour some light onto this?
Hi Salus i think it is something to do with nerves too, just comes on unexpected i used to get something like that, it used to go right through my body and felt very weird like a prickly crawling feeling, i can not remember why i got it, but i went on depressents for another problem and that prickly feeling went away, ask you Doc if he has any ideas to why it comes about, and if your worried about it he may be able to help' Best bet is to go to Health store and get a herb that will uplift ' calm' and balance you out, i am taking something i got from the health store called"Holy Basil" and its great , and organic so it wont upset your tummy, and i stopped taking
Good Luck Hun
This is a reply to Salus, don't know if it will end up in the right place, this is really weird I didn't think I would find anything about this anywhere but straight away I got your post and yes that is exactly what happens all the time, I look to see if I'm being stung or pricked by something or someone, it's gets pretty painful sometimes !!!!!!
I suspect it could be a acupuncture effect kind of thing, I know that when I press the calf of my leg I get a sharp pain in my right abdomen, same sort of feeling .
I thought it could be something to do with the digestion, I really wonder about it but feel better to know that this happens to others.
I know I have gall bladder problems but am managing those quite well by eating carefully, very little and very little fat, so maybe it could be that !!!???
Also I used antidepressants for a while and a muscle relaxant, Xanax, all very briefly because I'm scared of that stuff, and I know that can give you withdrawal feelings like crawly skin, so who knows.
Not really worried about it though, but wondering what it might be.
I too get these strange pin prick like sensations all over my body. In fact this has been going on all day and I noticed my blood sugar is elevated to 136 and I feel weird. I am wondering if this has something to do with blood circulation. Or lack of oxygen. I went to a sleep study last night because I was having a hard time breathing was having panic attacks and it all goes hand in hand. My finger hurt when I hold onto something. I find I have too tight of a grip. Maybe I am going crazy.
Hey Karinhere! Its actually stopped happening to me now..not sure why, I never did why out why this happened. I did have really bad indisgestion, but I've gotten control of that now, maybe that two are linked? I am taking digestive enzeymes pills before meals, they are really good! Hope this helps
hi, yes it does come and go, and I really believe that as I said before it seems to be some sort of neurological kind of acupuncture effect, the way you get a pain in your chest from indigestion.
Also, I use the massaging of the skin between thumb and forefinger to get rid of headache, something I instinctively started doing, sortof the wringing of hands initially during extreme migraines, turns out this is an actual acu pressure point!!!!!
I AM NOT AS TOTALLY UNWELL AS THIS MAKES ME SEEM, WHAT WITH PRICKS AND MIGRAINES, JUST INCIDENTAL STUFF, PRETTY HEALTHY OTHERWISE, COULD BE MUCH WORSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(can't add smileyfaces here in quick reply, think a few !!!!!, also a rainbow)
happened to me too: pin pricks feelings on my body
Hmmm. I remember soon after my second car accident last year, saying to a doctor that I kept looking around for bugs, because I felt like something walking on me, or some kind of pin pricks. She said that it's because of the accidents - but I can't remember exactly why. I think it was because of the nervous system: maybe the autonomic one has had enough, and does that. I'll ask them when I go to physio on Monday.
I've started getting it again a few weeks ago. I didn't think to mention it to anyone though. I think it's neurological. Good luck!
Hi there, i've been experiencing a similar sort of problem also, i get these pricks all over my body, arms legs, face, head, everywhere. It tends to be worse at night. I can barely sleep more than a few hours. It's extremely painful and i don't know what to do. I went to see a Doctor who thinks there's nothing wrong and he said these things happen when you're stressed. Is there anyone who can give me any advice on this. I would appreciate it.
This is sooo unbelieveable to have found this site. I am 39 years old and have been experiencing these abnormal sensations (pin pricking, twitching, extreme hot flashes, dizziness)since I had my 14 year old daughter (which was a terrible experience with multiple complications). I was told that I was depressed and was diagnosed with chronic fatique syndrome. I never accepted either diagnosis, but it is very frustrating. It appears that some one has a doll and is choosing to stick pins wherever and whenever they desire. Not only do I have the quick pains my skin often feel tender. Well I dont know what''s going on with me, however, I have taken many blood test and results come back normal. I can say often when I am stressed, I experience more of the symptoms. And by the way, I was given antidepressents to help me rest and to prevent me from being hypersensitive to the sensations.
I don't see any soultions to the pin pricks on this site. My husband 46 and is experiencing the same symptoms. He is a pilot and flies oveseas a lot. I am affraid that this is having a severe impact on his wellbeing. Any thoughts to what this may be?
SOLUTION: It is the yeast we eat in everything and its very much in alchol. I quit all yeast and my sharp pains (as well as ringing in my ears) went away as well as the extra weight I carried most of my life. Also the white sustance on my glasses behind my ears went away too. We eat too much of the Yeast Fungi in our lives. Eat LOTS of RAW Garlic and/or Holly Basil to kill yeast.
I and my wife have been having these pin pricks for some time now. We have massaged mustard oil all over our body and there is quite a relief. The skin if looked at very closely seems to have a dry look.
We have just tried for a few days and have relief.
Try it and report.
Hmmm, maybe it is a yeast thing. Mustard oil I think is antibacterial and would kill yeast. It would make sense to have couples having the same issue with yeast. Is that a candida overgrowth do you think? Health food stores have good ways to get rid of candida overgrowth. I was treated for it as a teenager, by a doctor, a long time ago.
Last year, I was told the pin pricks/crawly feelings I had were related to the autonomic nervous system reacting to having been shaken up in a car accident (or two). Maybe different things cause it.
Hi, I'm 14 and recently I've been feeling the pin pricks, bug-crawling sensations, along with random waves of goose bumps. I've tried a few sites, but I couldn't match the symptoms to one cause. There's nothing really abnormal with my health, except that I'm about 25 pounds overweight and dieting. Is this all caused by stress?
To start with I broke out with little patches of skin that would get red and itchy, after numerous doctors and specialist appointments, biopsys, every cream, lotion and potion they said I was allergice to sulfar so I ceased most things that contained this type of sulphate, rash remained.
After 6 months they found it was stress/anxiety related, I monitored this and whenever hard or stressful things were happening in my life, the rash appeared.
Lately I started to get just like one random pin prick or bite sensation somewhere on my body, usually fingers or toes, when I had my first one I thought I was bitten by a spider though I could not see one and there was no mark etc
Now I can link the two together as every time I am stressed or anxious and get bits of red rash from it, is when I get my pin prick sensations.
So from personal experience and managing it, try and reduce stress/anxiety which can be hard as a a lot of people do not even know they are stressed or anxious.
Last year I decided to go off of HRT and anti anxiety drugs as daily I felt like I was in a fog. Probably not good to do both at the same time (as on both for about 15 yrs) but my body reacted fiercely. My eyes twitched, headaches, and I had a red rash that started near my ankles and moved to my arms...my dermatologist said he never saw anything like it. He gave me a cream to use and said no matter what DO NOT ITCH...they put me on two meds that I believe were antibiotic and and pregnazone. It cleared up but then came back four months later. Again with the two meds and now I have been rash free for a year. I will occasionally get the itch but I ignore it. I use a shave cream for sensitive skin, dove sensitive skin body wash, and wash ONLY in lukewarm water. NEVER hot..... I am now getting these pricks in my left index finger. I think my body is still reacting to the trauma of being drug free and I am just living with it. I hope this helps
I know it is so annoying i am 29 and started feeling these pin pricks all over my body and it sometimes makes it really hard to get a full night of sleep. i wish it would stop. i first thought i had bed bugs but then i realized that it had to be something dealing with my nervous system.
i also experienced that I've been feeling the pin pricks, bug-crawling sensations, and when i consulted my doctor she said one reason could be worms so she gave me medication for 3 days and i felt the relief for a week but again it has started don't know what to do probably going to the doctor again
it is not related to any thing this is allergy with any thing...like yeast ,oil, nuts, alcohol, cold drinks, high cold atmospherics and low also... we never think these are effecting are body..but those are..i am 29..i have hives..feeling burn an itching and swelling reason is hives and pinching reason is immune system is low ..if your immunity is very very low than pinching will start..less amount of Vitamins D,B1,C in the body...and check your thyroid level..
I've had the same thing for years - random pricks all over my body throughout the day, more often when i'm trying to fall asleep. it feels as though someone is poking me with a needle - very painful. the last few weeks, i've weaned myself off of diet soda for health reasons, and i've noticed that it's mostly stopped. coincedence? i don't know, only time will tell.
