have been suffering with facial pain for 8 months now. Nose pain, cheekbone, eye socket, pain behind eyes, at back of head, forehead pain etc. My gp diagnosed it as sinus probs and have had numerous anti-b's and nasonex spray. Eventually in was referred to ent where i had a camera in nose. The doc said i had pus in my nasal cavity and perscribed a 12 week course of nasal drops and spray with some more anti b's.
I have been back to ENT as no change where i had another camera and another doctor who said the pus had gone and as i have never had any nasal congestion at all with the other symptons, he didnt think it was my sinuses but didnt know what else it could be. He has arranged for me to have a scan on the areas concerned and my brain to try and rule out other things and mentioned it could be neuralgia and i may have to live with it. I have since looked up neuralgia on the net and my symptons dont really match those described.
I am starting to get really worried now that it could be a tumour or cancer or something...can anyone help?

How do the pain usually starts?
Is it getting worse when you bend your head down?
Do you suffer from some allergies?

Hi....pain just usually starts, there is no pattern to it and nothing i can think of that triggers it. Its not worse when i bend forward and i dont suffer from allergies. I have since been perscribed amitriptiline for the pain and have been diagnosed with chronic neuralgia...am currently on 20mg a day and still get the pain sometimes but not as bad. My own GP has told me stress can make the pain worse?
