I feel a constant "lump in my throat" sensation that makes it hard to swallow and is quite uncomfortable.

help!
my husband has been complaining of not being able to swallow his food...we had this problem 6months ago and went to the dr. he said that it was a simple bacterial growth and would be cleared up with pcn...well now the problem is back not as severe but still there. i am very scared that this could be the first warring sign to cancer. my hubby is healthy and doesn't smoke or drink...he doesn't like to even be around smokers...what could possibly be wrong?
