Hello Somethingserious,

I have not had back surgery, however, if you go to the "Laser Spine Surgery" thread there are a number of people who post on the thread who have had back surgery. I'd encouurage you to take a read through their stories.

PLIF Lumbar Fusion
I've had a 1 level PLIF fusion of L5-S1 in May of 2005, and I am going to have a 3 level PLIF Fusion of the Previous Fusion and L5-L4 and L4-L3 in April of 2008.

I had a laminectomy on my cervical spine to remove a bullet. That level is fine, but now I am disabled with lumbar degenerative disk disease.

I have not had lumbar surgery and I'm not a good candidate for it. I did get six facet injections a couple of weeks ago and the pain has let up for now.
