Hi there, my names Lindsay. I'm looking for a place I can get support and advice! Yesterday I found out I am pregnant, after feeling odd for the past week of a missed period, so I guess that makes me 5 weeks. My boyfriend, who's 19, knows and is being very supportive. We wanted to get married further down the road before long before we found out, we love each other very much. We're firm believer's in "everything happens for a reason" though we were not ttc. I plan on finishing school, I go to high school (Junior year this year) and beauty school part time. I plan on finishing up online for my senior year, did anyone else do online school? We're in a good situation financially for the most part as well and can move out if wanted/needed. I'll be 18 by the time the baby is born.

Anyways, what I was wondering is how you all told your parents, if you were able to get to the doctor and use your insurance before your parents knew, and if you continued your schooling and where!

Ah, sorry for the life story. I'd really just like to have some peers to talk to

Also, did any of you marry the father of your child to help as far as financial reasons besides for love? I don't know whether we should wait or not, but we're not worried about the timing.

hi, im alicia. i got pregnant at 17 too. i was a senior though and i had my beautitful baby girl right before i gradutaed (seriously like 2 weeks before lol) my mum was acutlay the one who bought me the test, so she already knew, but i guess im different then most people because my mum had knew about it when i first started having sex lol. i cant answer your question about insureance because my mum already knew and TECHNICALLY i had my own insurance (i had state insurance and my name was the only one on the card, not my mums so i could have gone alone to anything). i also married my daughters father, we had been talking about marrige before i got pregnant, and exactly 20 days after i turned 18 we got married. we did it because we loved each other, it had not finachial reasons, although after we did it we found out it opened a whole lot of resources (hes in the navy so he gets extra pay for housing or we get a "free" rental house from them)

congrats and good luck Smile

Dont do it over food,i told my mom over lunch and the food became sickening to look at. Truth is moms know even if you think they dont. Its hard to determine the best place and time and with me i just blurted it out. It was the hardest thing i have ever done but its also the most relieveing, i understand your stress about it but if your firm on keeping the baby and you know what you want dont let any one change that! Good Luck!

Hi welcome to the forum. Do you live with your parents or on your own, I know youre only a junior in highschool but some people just dont live with their families. I flat out told my mom, yes I am pregnant. She had the feeling though that something was wrong. Parents usually can sense those type of things. I got pregnant just out of highschool when I was 18 years old. You need to be honest and upfront with your parents and the sooner the better. ESPECIALLY if you are on their insurance... Have you scheduled your first appointment? Just sit down with your boyfriend and come up with answers to all their potential questions and if your adiment about keeping this child... then be prepared... not all parents take it well... but youre about to embark on a long journey and need to inform them asap.

hey, i'm 16 and have a beautiful baby boy. I just turned 16 when I found out..

I would just sit my mom down and tell her (mine already knew)

I am still doing school, homeschooling.

i am NOT married to his father nor am i even with the jerk

i didn't have insurance till about 24 weeks but you prolly could go first but i'd still tell them first.

Hello and welcome to the forum. My name's Rose and i'm 18. I had my beautiful boy at 17. I am still with the father of the baby and we're currently having another baby, due july. We are engaged to get married next year.
I told my mum via phone a month after i found out i was pregnant. I was at my boyfriends at the time and too scared to tell her face to face. Bobby's mum already knew at the time. If i could change that, i would've told her face to face

my mom found out the worst way possible. she was bowling (i used to work there) and my old manager (jerk off) went up to my mom and said "congrats on the new baby" and then my mom called me and asked if it was true and i had to tell her yes. she was so upset with me due to the fact that i didnt tell her and im 2 months along. she was also upset at the fact my brother new before her. so my advice is..tell her before anyone else does. thats the worst phone call you can ever get in your life.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I still haven't told her yet. I'm going out of town for the day with my boyfriend on Saturday and I figured I'd write her a long letter explaining everything and leave it for her with a book to help her along. I read thats a decent way to do it, so I give her time to cool off.

I do live at home, and am on my mom's insurance.

I think my mom kind of knows somethings up, although she's been overly nice to me lately and I don't feel like my mother would react that way if she knows, so its odd! But I guess its good none the less.

Anyways! Anyone have any really good home remedies for morning (noon & night!) sickness? It hits me worst around 5 pm and I get extremely cranky because I have no idea how to fix it!

I don't think morning sickness is fixable. If you do find a cure, you'll be a billionaire, lol!

Ah! We're really close together. Did you have a wedding or just a court marriage? I really want a wedding but my man and I have a winter wedding we've been planning for awhile & the baby will be here right before that and I'd really like to be married before that! We might do both but I just want the wedding to be the only time. : \

Well morning sickness can't be fixed but what you can do is eat something veryyy slowly and drink water make sure you drink water with flouride in it because your teeth will be horrible later on because the baby is taking all your calcium. Atleast that's what my mom told me to do. Also eat crackers or bread.
