Hi everyone, I have had this for about a month now. I'm uncircumsised, and I'm not sexually active (so no chance of STD etc) but my penis head is often dry. I have flakey white skin on it, and this isn't just after masturbating. I also have it when I don't masturbate and I have tried using moisturiser on it for several days and when it didn't seem to work. How else could I get rid of it? I never masturbated with lube, and it was always ok. So I don't know what cause it.. but for a while I did use a really watery lube to try and see if it was better (before I had the dry skin) and I stopped using it, could that have dried me penis out? Anyway, it doesn't hurt me, but I would like to know how to treat it and maybe why it happened. Thanks

It's probably smegma. It's a buildup of dead skin and moisture and any minute traces of dirt under the foreskin. The foreskin is like a trap to keep the head of the penis moist and protected. Make sure you keep underneath your foreskin very, very clean. (i'm not saying you don't, but just take extra care). Warm water and a non abrasive soap for about three minutes should be good. Make sure you dry it very well before retracting. Unfortunately it's a side effect of having a foreskin sometimes!
