Q: What the voices are saying now.

So, they've come up with something new to me. Here gos.

They are saying that love is imperfect, that in order for there to be love there has to be pain, because if everybody was okay all of the time there would be no reason to care about them. But I thought that if nobody ever hurt that that would be loving.

So, which is it? Do we need pain in order for there to be love.
Or would being given a painless existence be loving?

I just don't know. I'd "love" to hear what you think.

And loving people are still loving when everything is okay, right?
When everything is okay it makes them happy. You can still be loving when there is no pain, in fact, if you are, you'll rejoice.

I've gotta go ahead and disagree with the voice on this one. It must be stupid.

I think we'll never know. How would we know what a painless existence would entail? Try taking this stance of agnosticism as to the matter and see what happens.

There must be an answer to this question though. And it's probably an obvious one.

Good for you, woops! I believe that too! Love for me is what is generally understood as 'God' - a state of perfection.

Thank you that's good to hear.

I agree that love is perfect. I don't think it depends upon anything in its pure state. But love is channeled through life and in that life it interacts in different situations, which may make it grow or diminish in a particular person. Pain may cut both ways. I don't think there's a law like the one your voice is trying to push.

Right. I agree with the both of you, it's simply just an erroneous statement to say that there must be pain in order for there to be love, and even in the prescense of pain it is still perfect, because loving people want to ease pain, heal pain, not cause pain, and all that.

Great replies, thanks.

We're not in kansas anymore are we?
I mean there is some voice in my head and it talks against love, hmmmmm. Besides what I posted here it also says things like love is worthless, that it does no good, and it's pointless to do and undergo, that it helps noone. And then it comes up with this loony rule that love is imperfect because there has to be pain for there to be love, confusing the hell outta me, which obviously isn't that hard to do. I wanna go back to kansas.

no, my parents won't have me, they want their own lives, Im living with my brother right now, and he doesn't want me to live with him either, so I have to move somewhere, but the problem is that I have trouble working, obviously because Im schizophrenic. So Im in kind've a tight spot, family won't help and honeslty they probably don't want to.

Are you not covered by some sort of Disability Allowance? And does the state you live in not have a commitment to house people under the Mental health Act? I find it appalling that you are dependent on family to take you in and care for you. Is there no way you can get some sort of advocate to work on your behalf to get whatever you are entitiled to?
