Q: Repeat Six Month Pap Smear Test For HPV

Received a note from my GYN's office stating that my test results are within normal range for testing on my pap smear.

Does this mean that I no longer have HPV? Does it mean it will go away and not come back? Does it mean that maybe, in the event that I ever want to have another relationship with someone, that I have to tell them that I once had HPV?

Where do I stand with this?

Thanks for your help.

Bobbie

Thanks Rosie
He did call me back the following Monday afternoon. He said that if I have four pap smears which come back within normal range, every six months, then I can go to one pap smear a year.

Nightangel says that you will always carry the virus but now it is in a dormant state. Thank God for that. She said just don't get stressed out which I am surprized that didn't push me to a bad point with this as I have a lot of pressure on me with my property.

Thanks for responding.
