Q: Yet another research breakthrough

Yet again---i was passing the tv at work and saw that there was another breakthrough in stemcell research. I saw that they had injected human cells into mice> what else did they find out and how does it help the research?

It sounds like a Sci-Fi horror movie... like rat humans walking around terrorizing the cities in an apocalyptic killing sprees lol.

Human Embryonic Stem Cells Generate Insulin Producing Cells in Mice
Monday February 25, 2008

Scientists at Novocell, Inc. have turned human embryonic stem cells (hES) into pancreatic cells that can produce insulin. After implantation into lab mice, the hES cells generate into glucose responsive endocrine cells and produce insulin. More research needs to be done before trials can begin in humans.
