Q: Update on us.

First off, sorry I haven't got party pictures up yet!! The good ones are on my brother in laws camera and he hasn't gotten them to me yet!! So it may be a while..

But in other news.. I had a sonogram done of my gallbladder last week and the said I had stones so I had an appointment with a surgeon today and I'm going to have to have it removed. I'm not excited. The doctor didn't think it was too urgent so I get to decide when I want to do it. The surgery will probably be over my spring break from school or in May right after classes end. I really can't miss class so I'll just have to see whats the best option..

Brayden also went to the doctors today! He had his general checkup and then had to get his one year shots!! No one told me how bad they would be! He usually handles them really well but today he cried so hard, even after I picked him up! Then they had us go to the lab to get his finger prick for the lead tests and he cried through the entire thing! My poor baby! He wore himself out so much that the second i sat him in his carseat he fell asleep! But anyways. He weighed 22 lb 5 oz and was 29.5 in! He is growing big! And the doctor was very happy about everything!

So thats whats been going on in our lives! Now I got to go make dinner! Adios!

I had my gallbladder removed in 2002. The attacks were pretty severe, that i was begging them to yank it out Smile

aww that sucks, i had my gallbladder removed last yr, it wasnt to bad, the first week u will feel the sorest. That sucks brayden cried for his shots, joseph always does but thent hey give him a lollipop and he gets quiet instantly.

Thanks everyone! I have a question I forgot to post above. How old do kids need to be before they can have eggs? I thought it was 1 and then I got a thing in the mail (I think from similac) that said he couldn't have eggs yet and I totally forgot to ask the doctor! Let me know please!

Also, for those of you who had your gallbladder out, do you think it would be reasonable to assume I'd be able to go back to school in about 10 days? All I do is drive for an hour there and then walk around campus to classes carrying my book bag (about 20 lbs) nothing to strenuous though.. The doctor told me most people are up and going 5-10 days so I just wanted to see what you guys would say..

O sarah you just had to ask.. I'm going to post what I posted somewhere else so I don't have to type everything again.. But anyways I talked to his doctor about his sleeping the other day and she basically said just keep doing what I'm doing so we had another go at it last night and this is how it went...
So lets talk about last night. It was HELL. I rocked brayden for a few minutes to get him calmed down and then laid him down for bed and he actually stayed asleep! So yay for that! But at 1 am he woke up and cried and cried soo hard, I laid in bed just listening to him because I knew I wasn't supposed to go in there and it was sooo hard! Finally at 3:30 he was still crying so I went in and laid him down and patted his back and left, wrong move.. that made him cry worse.. I finally couldn't take listening to him I wasn't getting any sleep and I felt so horrible so I went and slept on the couch so I couldn't hear him quite as much and eventually he fell asleep. It was the worst night ever though I seriously ended up in tears to because I felt so bad for making him cry. He wasn't crying like full blast constantly but he cried for a while then kinda wimpered and then was quiet for a few minutes and then it started up again for like 3 hours. I was about to pull my hair out. Then this morning he woke up at 6:15 right before I left for school so I went to get him out of his crib because I wanted to give him kisses and everything since Ifelt bad about last night. I could tell he was still tired but I got him up, maybe if he wakes up tired he will realize he needs to sleep more at night (he usually wakes up around this time anyways).. anyways he was SO clingy he didn't want anything to do with Bac he only wanted me and I had to leave so I told bac to sit with him at the window and wave to me like always and he just wailed he was sooo mad mommy was leaving (usually he waves and is fine) and then I started crying again! And I seriously cried for like 20 minutes in the car.. Its days like these when I HATE going to school. I wish I could just stay home with him. I hate leaving him!

Sorry for the horrible run on sentences, lack of everything related to english! I wrote that really early this morning to some other girls.

I think 10 days should be fine, i mean u arent gonna feel totally better you will still be sore but not as bad, the first week is the worst i think, or the few days following the surgery, in the states i know sometimes they do it outpatient but here i was stuck in the hospital for 5 days it sucked i just layed around and read boooks and slept pretty much but i didnt feel to bad once i got home its just sore to bend over and pick things up and such but other then that you should feel ok, right after the surgery u might get sharp pains in your back or up into your shoulders but thats just air bubbles and im sure they can give u something for that pain, here they gave me something for it, i was taking 2 meds while in the hospital but i dont know what they were lol, german drs didnt tell me a thing.

Thanks for that info. It is outpatient here, the dr said there is only like a 2% chance that they will go into surgery and decide to open ya up and in that case you'd have to stay in the hospital but that shouldnt happen.. So if 10 days is enough time I'll probably be calling the dr to see if I can get it done over spring break (middle of march), oh boy!

yea id do that on your break so by the time your back in school you should be fine, just if u can avoid it not bending over to pick you bookbag up, bending will be sore and picking something heavy up on top of that! But its not like unberable pain, i think 5 days after my surgery i was pickin my kids up. They did it laproscopicaly here but the germans are stupid and wanted me to stay for 5 days and i hated every minute of it , i couldnt even watch tv it was in german!

I was cooking Oni eggs at 7/8 months. She LOVED eggs. She eats them still, but prefers variety.

But when she was little it was eggs EVERY morning. I've never heard of having to wait. It's protein!!

Oh man about the night of crying!! It's hard, but many times it only takes 2/3 nights like that to get it(the sleeping issue) in check.

Many times, if they're over tired it'll be worse for you. There's one thing my mom/grandmaw tell me that I stick to! NEVER WAKE A SLEEPING BABY!! LOL!!

babies aren't supposed to have egg whites until after 1 year, the yolks are fine anytime. also, no honey, shellfish, or nuts until at least 1 year (though we're still holding off on shellfish and nuts until at least 2, finn has yet to taste the wonderfulness that is peanut butter).

I never heard they had to wait either. Jaylon has been eating egg salad forever. He loves it! Our doc gave us what I thought was a complete list of foods they can't have: Peanut Butter, honey, seafood, strawberries, etc. He never said eggs?
